On the final day of Russia's parliamentary elections, the capital Moscow and surrounding regions became the target of hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles. Authorities announced that at least two people lost their lives as a result of the attacks.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that over 1,600 drones were shot down and destroyed in the air, with 450 of them directly targeting the capital. Sobyanin stated that this unprecedented attack aimed to disrupt the elections, which were being conducted under strict control.
Loss of Life and Evacuations
Moscow Regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that a 44-year-old woman and an elderly man lost their lives at two different locations. Additionally, 400 residents were evacuated due to a fire that broke out after a drone crashed into a 21-story building.
Energy Infrastructure Targeted
As a result of the attacks, which have intensified a long-range drone campaign targeting energy infrastructure in recent months, damage occurred at a major oil refinery in the Moscow region. Emergency teams began operating at the scene in the area.
