Knife Attack in the Cockpit
It was reported that during a FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, Israel, the co-pilot launched a knife attack against the captain in the cockpit. Resisting the attempt to crash the plane, Indian captain Smit Machchhar was seriously injured.
Emergency Landing and Security Measures
Despite his severe injuries, the captain opened the cockpit door to enable passengers and crew to subdue the attacker, thereby preventing a major disaster. The Boeing 737 aircraft made a successful emergency landing in the northwestern Saudi city of Tabuk.
