Athens Airport Expansion Project
Athens International Airport announced that it will launch the tender process for the first phase of its North Terminal expansion project, which is planned to be completed by the end of 2030.
The airport welcomed 15.8 million passengers in the first half of 2026, generating 299.6 million euros in revenue and 81.4 million euros in net profit during this period.
Solar Power Plant at Sofia Airport
Construction has begun on a new solar power plant at Vasil Levski Sofia Airport in Bulgaria, built by Hydroenergy and scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
To be established on an area of 50,000 square meters, the plant will have a capacity of 5 MW with 8,300 solar modules.
Autonomous Wheelchairs in Singapore
Singapore Changi Airport is introducing autonomous wheelchairs in the transit areas of Terminals 2 and 3 to support passengers with reduced mobility.
Up to 18 autonomous units supplied by provider WHILL will be actively used within the airport.
