Iran has established a new surveillance mechanism called Alaj, targeting the diaspora and encouraging its citizens to provide information about Iranians living abroad.

Alaj System and Operation Method

Iran has launched a new reporting system called Alaj that encourages the collection of information about citizens abroad. This platform, which means "remedy" or "cure" in Persian, aims to report individuals alleged to have acted against the national interests or security of the country.

Communication Channels and Promotional Activities

It was reported that tips can be submitted via the Alaj website, a Telegram bot, and Iran's Bale messaging service. Iranian state television and the Fars News Agency, known for its proximity to the Revolutionary Guards, were among the institutions supporting this initiative.

Criticism and Platform Status

It was stated that the website was taken offline after facing intense criticism within Iran. Claims that the platform monitors thousands of people abroad have not been verified by independent sources.
