The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that an unmanned and modern US submarine was seized as a result of an intelligence and operational activity carried out at the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz.

Details of the Operation

The naval forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards carried out a complex intelligence and operation in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz in the morning hours.

In the official statement made, it was announced that one of the unmanned and smart submarine vehicles belonging to the United States military was captured during this operation.

Mission of the Submarine

It was stated that the captured unmanned underwater vehicle was designed to carry out underwater reconnaissance and surveillance activities.

In addition, it was stated that the vehicle in question had tasks such as seabed mapping, mine detection, and inspection of underwater cables and pipelines.

Regional Blockade

It is known that Iran has kept the Strait of Hormuz under blockade and control since the turning point when the war in West Asia began.

Tensions exist between the parties over this waterway, through which a significant portion of global oil and liquefied natural gas exports pass.

Footage and Responses

The Revolutionary Guards stated that photographs and detailed video recordings of the captured American submarine will be shared with the public in the coming hours.

The US side, on the other hand, has not yet made an official assessment regarding this development claimed by Iran and continues to examine the issue.
