The news of his death was announced by local media reports based on a statement from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office and by his attorney.

Copenhaver was in the stands during the 2024 rally in the city of Butler.
He was shot in the arm and abdomen when a 20-year-old gunman opened fire from a nearby rooftop.
Other Injured and Casualties
In the same attack, another attendee named David Dutch managed to survive with injuries.
Corey Comperatore lost his life while trying to shield his family from the bullets.
Legal Process and Lasting Damage
Copenhaver and his wife, Marianne Copenhaver, had filed a lawsuit against the Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security over security lapses.
Having undergone multiple surgeries due to his injuries, Copenhaver's condition had left lasting and permanent damage.
