Joint call for Gaza from health organizations in Şanlıurfa
Bar associations and health organizations in Şanlıurfa held a joint press statement on the third year of the attacks in Gaza, demanding the protection of the right to health.
The Palestine Commission of the Şanlıurfa Bar Association and various health organizations gathered in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse on the third anniversary of the conflicts in Gaza to emphasize that the right to health is indispensable.

The Palestine Commission of the Şanlıurfa Bar Association, along with the Şanlıurfa Branch of Sağlık Der, the Şanlıurfa Branch of Türk Sağlık-Sen, the Şanlıurfa Family Physicians Association, and the Şanlıurfa Branch of Hürriyet Sağlık-Sen, organized a joint press statement.
During this gathering held in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse, attention was drawn to the humanitarian drama and the massive destruction in the healthcare sector in Gaza.
The Statement Was Read by a Lawyer
The joint press release prepared on behalf of the institutions was shared with the public in the presence of the participants by Abdulkadir Tok, one of the lawyers of the Şanlıurfa Bar Association.
Healthcare Services Targeted
It was stated that the attacks, which have continued uninterrupted for three years in Gaza, have made access to healthcare services nearly impossible and that hospitals have been bombed.
It was emphasized that healthcare facilities in the region have been rendered largely dysfunctional and that a large number of healthcare workers have lost their lives.
International Data Shared
Citing data from the World Health Organization dated September 24, 2026, the gravity of the situation was revealed with figures.
It was stated that only 19 out of 36 hospitals in Gaza are partially operational, and at least 920 attacks targeting healthcare services have been recorded since October 2023.
Healthcare Workers Who Lost Their Lives
The statement shared the information that more than 1,700 healthcare workers have lost their lives since the crisis began.
Call to International Organizations
A clear call was made to the international community, the United Nations, and the World Health Organization, demanding an emergency action plan.
It was requested that the attacks be ended immediately, healthcare workers on duty be protected, and humanitarian aid be delivered uninterrupted to the region.
