According to information shared at a press conference held by New York City police officials, 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros carried out a random and unprovoked attack in the Times Square area. The suspect, a resident of Queens, first stabbed a 68-year-old man in the abdomen with two knives in her possession.

Police teams arriving at the scene spent approximately 4 minutes pleading with the suspect and asking her to drop the knives in order to stop her. However, Cisneros resisted the police and uttered threats, stating that she would not drop the knives.
Armed Intervention and Hospital Process
Police teams attempted to stop the suspect with stun guns but were unsuccessful. Two police officers opened fire on the woman as she continued to walk toward them; the attacker and the stabbed woman, who were taken to Bellevue Hospital, could not be saved.
