Flood Disaster in the Himalayas
This tremor follows a devastating ice and mud avalanche that affected Nepal and Tibet in the Himalayan region. The massive disaster, which occurred on August 26, caused widespread destruction in the area.
Loss of Life and Missing Reports
According to figures from authorities and Chinese state media, the total death toll from the August disaster has risen to 1,273. It was officially confirmed that 1,252 people lost their lives in Nepal and 21 in Tibet.
Search and Rescue Operations
More than 4,700 people are still reported missing across both countries. Rescue teams continue their searches at hydroelectric projects for workers suspected of being trapped in tunnels.
