Evaluation of the Medium-Term Program
Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) Chairman Burhan Özdemir made evaluations regarding the agenda and answered questions at the Anadolu Agency Finance Desk, prepared with the contributions of the Istanbul Finance Center.
Interest Rate Expectations and Predictability
Stating that they view the announced Medium-Term Program as a more real, realistic, and grounded program, Özdemir expressed that predictability is a priority for the business world rather than figures.
Evaluating the policy rate, Özdemir noted that he does not expect a dramatic drop even in possible positive scenarios regarding oil prices and thinks that interest rates will follow a horizontal course.
Global Trade and New Routes
Stating that the old world order has collapsed but the new order has not yet been fully established, Özdemir emphasized that this period, in which the regulatory order has lost ground, offers opportunities as well as risks.
Stating that as MÜSİAD they are focusing on Africa, the Middle East, and the Turkic Republics during this period, Özdemir said that they plan to establish trade centers in these regions through visits to Tanzania, Senegal, and Ghana.
Artificial Intelligence and MÜSİAD EXPO Preparations
Underlining that the issue of artificial intelligence and technological transformation must by no means be missed, Özdemir stated that this transformation stems not from a deficiency, but from the necessity of the future.
Providing information about MÜSİAD EXPO, Özdemir conveyed that they expect participants from 114 countries this year, have received registrations totaling over 50,000 with 8,000 from abroad, and have also agreed with over 400 purchasing delegations from 70 different countries.
