Russia and Ukraine exchange strikes as two killed at Moldova border

As a result of mutual drone attacks between Russia and Ukraine, two people lost their lives at the Ukraine-Moldova border checkpoint, while fatalities and injuries were also reported in various settlements on both sides.

Attack at the Moldovan Border

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russian drones struck the Starokozache border checkpoint between Ukraine and Moldova, killing two people in the attack.

Odesa Regional Governor Oleh Kiper confirmed that the border checkpoint was closed following the attack and that three people were injured in the incident.

Targets in Kyiv and Sumy

A Russian drone hitting a nine-story building in Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, resulted in the death of a woman, while 14 people, including two children, were injured.

In the city of Sumy, a drone attack on a shopping mall on Wednesday evening claimed the lives of three people and left 20 others injured.

Casualties Inside Russia

Russian authorities announced that four people, including a child, died in a Ukrainian drone attack targeting the Black Sea port city of Novorossiysk.

Additionally, it was reported that an industrial facility in the city of Novy Urengoy in the Arctic region was targeted by a drone.

Call for International Support

Following the increasing long-range attacks, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated his call for support from the international community in the wake of the incident at the Starokozache border checkpoint.

Zelenskiy emphasized that this aggression must be stopped before it spreads any further.
