Entry of the Ships into Waters
Naval ships carrying approximately 1,500 Myanmar citizens sent from Malaysia have entered Myanmar's waters. It was stated that three Myanmar naval ships were carrying 1,476 citizens.
Justifications and Rights
It was announced that the citizens were sent back to their country from Malaysian immigration camps after completing their sentences for illegal residency and violating immigration regulations.
International Warnings
The United Nations and human rights groups emphasized that returns amid the ongoing civil war environment could pose risks. The UN stated that conditions are not safe for refugees.
Resettlement Plan
It was noted that authorities and family members in Myanmar would welcome them at the port, and that returning individuals would be provided with transportation to their hometowns and support for resettlement.
