According to data from the International Federation of Robotics, the number of active industrial robots operating in factories worldwide in 2025 increased by nine percent compared to the previous year, rising to 5,079,000. Newly installed robots on a global scale rose by eleven percent, surpassing 600,000.

Record Developments in the Global Robotics Sector

The report published by the International Federation of Robotics revealed that the number of industrial robots actively working in factories worldwide reached 5,079,000 in 2025. This figure demonstrated the rapid advancement of industrial automation and the major transformation undergoing global industry.

Federation President Jane Heffner emphasized that this new milestone of five million corresponds to more than double the total number of robots from just seven years ago, noting that global installations increased by eleven percent to exceed 600,000.

Dominance in the China and Asia Market

China increased its annual installations by twenty percent, integrating 354,000 new robots into its production lines and maintaining overwhelming dominance in the global market. The country alone accounted for fifty-nine percent of total robot installations worldwide.

In Japan, another key player in Asia, the number of robots dropped by nineteen percent to 36,219, while South Korea ranked fourth with 30,000 new installations and India increased its installations by fifteen percent.

Changes in the Americas and the Rise of the US

The US increased its new robot installations by twelve percent to 38,500, surpassing Japan to claim the title of the world's second-largest robot market.

Meanwhile, Brazil recorded a strong surge of thirty-eight percent driven by Chinese automotive investments, bringing 4,300 new robots into operation.

Robot Stock and Sectoral Distribution in Turkey

Although new robot installations in Turkey decreased by nine percent in 2025 to 3,194, the total active industrial robot stock increased by seven percent to reach 30,990. With this result, Turkey rose to fifteenth place in the global rankings.

While the metal industry maintained its leadership with 990 new installations, the automotive sector accounted for thirty-six percent of the total active stock with a volume of 11,017 units, resulting in 52 robots per 10,000 employees in the manufacturing industry.
