People from More Than 30 Countries Missing After Flash Floods on Nepal-China Border
Hundreds of people have lost their lives in a massive flash flood on the Nepal-China border, while numerous foreign tourists from around the world remain unaccounted for.
At least 359 people have died in a devastating flash flood in the border region between Nepal and China, while hundreds of people from more than 30 different countries are missing and being searched for.
The Scale of the Disaster and Casualties
The death toll from the flash flood that hit the Nepal-China border has reached at least 359. As search and rescue efforts continue in the region, more than 1,400 people are still reported missing.
Foreign Nationals and Rescue Efforts
Numerous foreign nationals from more than 30 countries who were in the region for trekking, guided tours, or sacred visits are also on the missing list. Nepal disaster management authorities announced that fifty foreign nationals have been rescued by air.
Missing Persons Information by Country
Chinese state media reported that at least three people lost their lives and 558 people, including 260 foreigners, are missing in Gyirong County, Tibet. Many countries, including India, the US, the UK, France, Germany, and Australia, have filed missing person reports for their citizens.
