An anonymous, Connecticut-based family with a 30-year relationship with the foundation provided the $50 million, the largest donation in Americares history.

Areas of Use and Objectives of the Donation
Half of the financial support will be spent in line with the goal of ensuring 100 million people have access to quality health services by 2030.
Resources will be directed to regions lacking funding and awareness, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
The Foundation's Endowment and Future Expectations
The remaining half of the donation will be transferred to the endowment fund to secure the future operations of the Americares foundation.
