President Erdoğan Gives Foreign Policy Messages at the Bishkek Summit
Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Bishkek, President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey strives for global peace through dialogue and diplomacy.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated during his speech at the Council of Heads of State Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, that they have taken responsibility for resolving conflicts through diplomacy.
Summit Contacts and Congratulations
President Erdoğan attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit Extended Session held at the Iris Ordo Congress Center in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Conveying his condolences to the countries of those who lost their lives in the natural disaster in Nepal, Erdoğan thanked Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and the hosts. Congratulating Laos on its admission to Dialogue Partnership, Erdoğan wished success for Kyrgyzstan's Temporary Membership in the UN Security Council for 2027-2028.
Multipolar System and Foreign Policy
Stating that the organization has become one of the indispensable elements of the multipolar order in the last 25 years, Erdoğan noted that Turkey's multidimensional foreign policy centered on regional ownership coincides with the objectives of the organization. Erdoğan expressed that they continue to assume responsibility based on dialogue and diplomacy for the establishment of peace, tranquility, and stability all over the world.
Transportation and Energy Cooperation
Stating that the organization can undertake important roles in critical areas such as transportation corridors and energy supply security, the President expressed that they aim to harmonize the Trans-Caspian East-West-Middle Corridor Initiative with the Belt and Road Initiative.
Climate Change and COP31 Summit
Touching upon the global fight against climate change, Erdoğan informed the international community by announcing that Turkey will host the COP31 Summit to be held in Antalya on November 11-12, 2026.
Attacks in Gaza and Lebanon
Drawing attention to Israel's attacks in his speech, President Erdoğan emphasized that in this environment where peace is being discussed, Gaza and Lebanon, where 74,000 people, mostly children and women, have lost their lives, must definitely not be forgotten.
