Chinese President Xi Jinping was greeted upon disembarking from his plane by a guard of honor composed of Indian soldiers and dancers wearing traditional attire.

On the first day of the two-day summit, a gala dinner is planned in Xi's honor, while other leaders were hosted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

First Visit After Seven Years

This important summit marks Xi Jinping's first official visit to India in the past seven years.

The visit stands out as the biggest step taken toward reconciliation following the deadly military clash on the disputed Himalayan border in 2020 that resulted in the deaths of 20 Indian and four Chinese soldiers.

New Delhi Declaration and Joint Decisions

Block members coming together at the summit reiterated their commitment to the peaceful resolution of international disputes through dialogue, consultation, and diplomacy.

In the joint communique named the New Delhi Declaration, a call was made for maximum restraint in the Middle East, and a unanimous consensus was reached on the text.
