Solidarity marches will be held across Turkey on World Older Persons Day

Under the leadership of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, simultaneous solidarity marches will be held across Turkey on the occasion of October 1, World Older Persons Day.

Details of the Marches

The events will start nationwide at 11:00 AM and will be implemented simultaneously in all eighty-one provinces.

The routes have been carefully selected from accessible points that will allow older individuals to participate comfortably.

Inter-Institutional Cooperation

The march organizations will be carried out through the joint efforts of governorates, local governments, public institutions, universities, and non-governmental organizations.

Global Theme and Vision

The global theme for this year has been designated by the United Nations as Rethinking Systems for an Age of Longevity and Longer Lives.

In this context, the Ministry announced that various cultural, artistic, and sporting activities will also be organized in addition to the marches.

Social Services Provided

Supports such as Home Care Assistance, the National Vefa Program, and the Older Support Program are provided by the Ministry to older citizens.

Additionally, efforts to increase the quality of life of older individuals through nursing home services are continued uninterruptedly.
