Three people killed in Russian attacks in Ukraine
Russian overnight attacks have caused casualties in various regions of Ukraine, while upcoming visits by U.S. representatives have increased diplomatic activity.
At least three people have lost their lives in intense Russian attacks targeting various Ukrainian cities. As the attacks continue, U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to visit Moscow and Kyiv as part of diplomatic talks aimed at ending the war.
The toll of the attacks
One person was killed and at least five others were injured in a large-scale attack on the Odesa region. In the city of Dnipro, two police officers lost their lives as a result of the attacks.
In the capital, Kyiv, a drone struck a residential building, causing three people to be injured. Additionally, the headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine was targeted by a Russian UAV.
Expectations for diplomatic contacts
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he would host U.S. representatives in Kyiv in the coming days. The talks are described as a new diplomatic effort to end the war.
According to reports in Russian state media, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are scheduled to travel to Moscow first and then to Kyiv over the weekend. However, U.S. and Kremlin officials have not yet officially confirmed these visits.
Drone attack in Russia
A large-scale drone attack was carried out by Ukraine on the Russian resort city of Sochi and the nearby Sirius region. The attack resulted in a fire at an oil depot.
