Details of the UN Watch Report
The Geneva-based organization UN Watch objected to claims by the agency that it had completed the reforms recommended as a result of an independent review.
The report argued that at most 13 out of the 50 reforms recommended in the review led by Catherine Colonna have been fully implemented.
Response from the United Nations
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric defended the ongoing process, emphasizing the importance of implementation and stating that the agency relies on the oversight of member states.
It was also stated that the agency regularly reports to the General Assembly and that oversight mechanisms are operational.
