Trump stated that the Iranian side wanted to make a deal to open the strait immediately because they suffered heavy losses.
Expectation of Official Notification from Iran
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that no official rejection message had been conveyed to them from the U.S. through intermediaries yet, and they were awaiting definitive views. Araghchi had previously noted that the strait could be opened within seven days if conditions were met.
