Ukraine Plans to Legalize Pornography for War Fund
Ukraine aims to purchase tens of thousands of drones using tax revenues generated by legalizing the adult entertainment industry.
The Ukrainian administration is considering the option of legalizing the adult content sector in order to provide funding for the war efforts against Russia. If the bill becomes law, the generated revenue is planned to be used to produce tens of thousands of drones.
Tax Revenue Plan from the Adult Sector
A new bill introduced in the Ukrainian parliament envisions bringing the country's adult entertainment sector into the legal economy. The initiative, supported by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak serving on the parliament's finance committee, aims to increase tax revenues.
Budget Target for Thirty Thousand Drones
It is estimated that if the prepared bill becomes law, approximately 25 million dollars in tax revenue can be provided to the state budget. It is stated that this financing could fund the purchase of up to 30,000 drones to be used on the battlefield.
Current Legal Status and State of the Industry
According to Ukrainian laws, producing, possessing, or distributing pornographic content currently constitutes a crime and can carry prison sentences of up to seven years. Despite this, the adult content sector continues to grow, and content creators face various challenges.
OnlyFans Data and Social Initiatives
Official figures reflect that thousands of Ukrainian content creators generated high incomes through OnlyFans in 2023 alone. Following a petition launched by content creator Svitlana Dvornikova, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the matter would be evaluated in parliament.
