US and Iran Carry Out Largest Mutual Attacks Since July

In the most intense wave of clashes seen between the US and Iran since July, the parties launched reciprocal air and missile strikes. While US forces targeted military facilities on Iran's southern coast, Iran launched attacks on American bases in Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, and Kuwait.

Largest Wave of Conflict Since July

The US, Iran, and its Arab neighbors have been dragged back into a conflict environment with the largest exchange of fire since July. While the Washington administration threatened more destructive attacks, activity was observed in markets and energy prices.

Asian and European stock markets experienced declines following the renewed US airstrikes, developments that pushed oil prices back up to levels not seen since July.

US Operations Targeting Iranian Coastal Targets

The US Central Command announced that Tuesday's operations struck air defense systems, radar infrastructures, naval assets, mine-laying capabilities, and communication facilities belonging to the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

In line with military statements, it was noted that critical military points on the southern coast were targeted and signals were given that operations could be expanded.

Retaliation Against American Bases in the Region

In response to the US airstrikes, Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting American assets located in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, and Iraq.

The Jordanian military announced that it intercepted 10 out of 13 missiles heading toward the country in mid-air, while 3 missiles fell into empty fields far from residential areas. Kuwait's Ali Al Salem Air Base was also the target of missile and drone attacks.

Casualties and Allegations

The Iranian side reported that at least 12 people lost their lives as a result of the US midnight airstrikes. It was claimed that those who lost their lives included five people hit during a wedding ceremony in the Sirik region.

While international news agencies could not independently verify the incident, it was reported that US officials have not yet made a statement regarding this allegation.
