The US Department of Health and Human Services has published an official request for information to gather views and research on electromagnetic exposures from wireless technologies such as mobile phones, Wi-Fi, and 5G.
Scope of the Request for Information
The call, issued by the US Department of Health and Human Services on September 17, targets a broad area covering modern wireless communication infrastructures and devices.
Targeted Technologies
The request for information includes various technologies such as mobile phones, Wi-Fi networks, smart meters, wearable technologies, wireless medical devices, 5G and 6G networks, and satellite communications.
Objectives of the Ministry
It was announced that the information obtained will be used to comprehensively evaluate existing scientific data, identify research gaps, and examine safety standards.
Scientific Research
In the COSMOS study published in 2024 by IARC under the World Health Organization, data from more than 250,000 mobile phone users had been examined.
