Professor Phan Manh Huong from the University of South Florida in the United States has made significant evaluations in line with the goal of establishing a world-class research center in his homeland, Vietnam.

Holding the title of Fellow of the American Physical Society, Professor Phan Manh Huong made important statements in an interview with the Tin Tuc va Dan Toc newspaper.

Huong emphasized that significantly increasing the ratio of investment in science and technology to GDP creates a great opportunity in terms of knowledge accumulation.

VinUni University and Research Goals

Professor Huong stated that he made the decision to return to Vietnam more than a year ago in line with the university's goals and his own personal aspirations.

It was stated that following these decisions, universities expanded their research orientations, which positively reflected on academic studies.

Materials Technology Innovation Center

Professor Huong played an active role in the realization of the Materials Technology Innovation Center established within VinUni.

With the establishment of the center, it is aimed to specialize in core technologies and conduct research at global standards.

Transformation into a Technology-Producing Country

It was particularly emphasized that investments should be allocated with a mission-oriented approach rather than based on the number of projects.

It was stated that Vietnam can transition from a position of receiving technology to a position of being able to produce and export technology.

Unity and Connection of Scientists

In order for the country to complete its technological transformation, scientists working at home and abroad need to act together.

It is stated that establishing a strong cooperation network will play a critical role in achieving the targeted success.
