The 2037 maturity sustainable bond issuance carried out by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance was completed with a total amount of $1.5 billion and saw strong demand from investors.

Details and Authorization of the Issuance

According to the announcement published on the website of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, a US dollar-denominated ESG bond with a 2037 maturity was issued within the scope of the 2026 external financing program.

Accordingly, BNP Paribas, Citibank, ING Bank, and J.P. Morgan were mandated on September 23, and the aforementioned issuance was finalized on the same day.

Coupon and Yield Rates

While the coupon rate of the sustainable bond, issued with a maturity of January 30, 2037, was set at 7.5 percent, the yield rate was realized at 7.65 percent.

It was announced that the secured funds will be transferred to the official accounts of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance on September 30.

Investor Interest and Allocation

More than 100 international investors participated in this bond issuance, and demand exceeding three times the issuance amount was received.

32 percent of the bond was allocated to investors in the United Kingdom, 30 percent in the USA, 25 percent in Turkey, 9 percent in other European countries, and 4 percent in other regions.

External Financing and History

This security stands out as the second ESG bond issued by the Treasury in international capital markets and the first one since 2023.

With this successful bond issuance, the total financing raised from international capital markets in 2026 reached $12.2 billion.
