The 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championship is being held from September 9 to 19 in Canada's capital, Ottawa.
Our National Team had earned a direct qualification spot for the championship by finishing the 2025 Men's European Championship, held in Bosnia and Herzegovina's capital Sarajevo, in 5th place.
Fenerbahçe Majority in the Roster
While Can Aksu serves as the head coach of the National Team, a large number of athletes representing Fenerbahçe are included in the roster.
Yamaç Yüksel, Uğur Toprak, Mücahit Günaydın, Murat Yazıcı, Ahmet Sarıdağ, Ahmet Efetürk, and Baran Oğuz wear the jersey in the squad, while Mehmet Tosun serves as the physiotherapist for the delegation.
Group Matches and First Test
Competing in Group B, our Wheelchair Basketball National Team will play against England, Australia, and Argentina.
The crescent-and-star team will play its first match at the World Championship today at 19:30 TSI against England and will subsequently take to the court for its other group fixtures.
