Defense analyst Wolfgang Pusztai stated that if reports are true that Houthi fighters have captured the strategic Red Sea coastal city of al-Makha, this would be a major development handing them control of Yemen's entire Red Sea coast.

Airstrikes and Clashes

Saudi Arabia reported a new wave of approximately 40 airstrikes following attacks targeting oil facilities and civilian infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the Houthis in Yemen announced that they had shot down a Saudi Karial armed reconnaissance drone operating in the airspace of Hajjah province.

Regional Reactions and Warnings

It was reported that Pakistan warned Iran to rein in the group, stating that if Houthi attacks on Saudi territory continue, a defense pact between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey could be activated.

An analyst noted that pressure on Tehran to stop the Houthis is unlikely to change the situation on the ground significantly, as the group is fighting its own war and is largely independent of external aid.

Amid the US-Iran conflict, oil prices remained above $100 a barrel, and Asian stock markets saw declines, reflecting anxiety in global markets.

On the other hand, it was noted that a family including two small children sleeping in a destroyed building in Gaza was killed by Israeli forces, while the UN warned of inadequate humanitarian aid supplies due to funding cuts and restrictions.
