According to data shared by the Yalova Provincial Directorate of Health, 9,510 mammography scans were performed in the first 9 months of the year as part of ongoing efforts to ensure early diagnosis of breast cancer and expand screening activities.
According to the statement by the Yalova Provincial Directorate of Health, screening efforts are coordinated through family health centers, Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Education Centers (KETEM), and healthy life centers. Patients with suspicious findings are referred to relevant hospitals for further examination and treatment processes.
Within the framework of the national cancer screening program, free mammography services are offered once every two years to women between the ages of 40 and 69. In addition, transportation support is provided for women residing in districts to facilitate participation in the screenings.
