Access block imposed on all social media accounts of Halk TV
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Halk TV Chairman of the Board Cafer Mahiroğlu, a Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) trustee was appointed to the channel, and an access block was imposed on its social media accounts.
Within the scope of the bribery and tender rigging investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a TMSF trustee was appointed to Halk TV, and an access block decision was issued for the channel's official social media accounts.
Investigation and Detention Decisions
Within the framework of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, accusations of bribery, tender rigging, and laundering of assets derived from crime are directed against Halk TV Chairman of the Board Cafer Mahiroğlu.
It was shared that detention warrants were issued for a total of 17 people within the scope of the investigation, and 11 of them have been detained by law enforcement forces.
Police Search at Channel Headquarters and Appointment of Trustees
In the morning hours, police teams entered Halk TV's headquarters in Istanbul to conduct a search, and television broadcasts were temporarily suspended.
Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, companies alleged to be connected to Mahiroğlu were seized, and the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund was appointed as a trustee.
Access Block on Social Media Accounts
Following the operations at the channel's headquarters, an access block decision was issued for Halk TV's YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Telegram accounts pursuant to Article 8/A of Law No. 5651.
It was stated that following the access block issued by the criminal judgeship of peace decision, the accounts on the relevant social media platforms have not yet been made completely invisible from Turkey.
