Access Block Imposed on Özlem Öz's Account with 4.3 Million Followers

Social media influencer Özlem Öz's account with 4.3 million followers was shut down on the grounds of posts regarding her children's private lives and bodily privacy. Upon the application of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the court issued an access block decision.

Social media influencer Özlem Öz and her husband Tayyar Öz, who have frequently been criticized for posts targeting the private lives of their five children, most recently published moments of their son's circumcision on their social media accounts. This post drew the attention of the public and relevant institutions.

In a statement regarding the issue, the Ministry of Family and Social Services stated that upon the sharing of footage recorded during the circumcision of a young child by Ö.Ö., which violated private life and bodily privacy, the removal of the content and an access block were requested within the scope of Law No. 5651. Announcing that the relevant court accepted this request, the ministry emphasized that the right of custody does not grant unlimited discretionary authority over the private lives and bodily privacy of children.
