Amateur Sports Season Opening and Sports City Meeting Held in Kahramanmaraş

Organized by the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality at the Mehmet Akif Cultural Center, the Amateur Sports Season Opening and Sports City Kahramanmaraş Meeting took place with the participation of legendary football players Tanju Çolak, Mehmet Özdilek, and İbrahim Yattara.

The Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality organized an event aimed at spreading sports culture in the city and supporting amateur clubs. Moderated by TRT Spor Broadcaster Erdoğan Arıkan, the program hosted Tanju Çolak, Mehmet Özdilek, and İbrahim Yattara as guests. During the program, Metropolitan Mayor Fırat Görgel announced that 8 million TL in cash aid would be provided to amateur sports clubs.

Mayor Fırat Görgel provided information about the sports investments carried out in the city, stating that they brought a 4,500-capacity pitch to Kahramanmaraş İstiklalspor in 3 months and that they are very close to completing the 17,500-capacity large stadium. He also noted that the 15 Temmuz Millet Bahçesi has been converted into a 30-deare Sports Valley, the construction of a 9,000-square-meter Youth and Sports Center in Yamaçtepe is ongoing, and 31 artificial turf pitches have been completed. At the end of the program, plaques were presented to athletes representing the city in national and international competitions, while Mayor Görgel presented the guests with Kahramanmaraş İstiklalspor jerseys.
