Claude developer Anthropic files for IPO
Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has officially filed for an initial public offering (IPO) on the US stock market. The company, which plans to trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ANT, aims to gain access to a large capital pool with this move.
Anthropic, the developer of the Claude chatbot, has filed to initiate the IPO process on the US stock market. Founded in 2021 by Dario Amodei, who left OpenAI, and headquartered in San Francisco, the company plans to trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ANT once the IPO is completed.
The IPO filing did not include financial details such as the number of shares to be sold or the price range. The company's audited financial statements are expected to provide the first comprehensive data on its financial position to the public. This capital increase aims to provide the resources Anthropic needs to develop its artificial intelligence models and strengthen its computing infrastructure.
In the IPO document, Anthropic emphasized that its ability to produce the most advanced artificial intelligence models is critical to its success. The company highlighted the risk that models could exhibit unexpected behaviors such as self-preservation, information withholding, or manipulation.
The company is also on the agenda due to legal processes with the US administration. Anthropic, which has been classified as a supply chain risk by the Donald Trump administration, is currently barred from contracting with military institutions. The company continues its legal battle against this decision.
