The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Public Security jointly organized a conference in the Northern region titled "Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation to Promote Growth in the Agriculture and Environment Sector."

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Dang Ngoc Diep drew attention to the critical importance of the agricultural sector for economic development and food security. According to ministry data, in the first nine months of 2026, the agricultural sector grew by 4.02%, and export turnover reached 56.3 billion US dollars. In 2025, the sector had achieved 3.78% growth with 70.63 billion dollars in exports.

While the role of science and technology in increasing agricultural productivity was emphasized at the meeting, it was stated that the fragmented structure in current technology transfer processes and the allocation of investment resources constitutes a bottleneck. Deputy Minister Diep stated that a transition to a new growth model focused on productivity, quality, and high technology should be made for the 2027-2030 period.
