Within the scope of the 12th judicial package, the requirement to log into social media platforms via age verification and identity matching through e-Government for the digital safety of children has become law.

With the 12th judicial package, the regulation regarding logging into social media with an identity document has been made official. According to the regulation, blocking access to social media for children under 15 and granting limited access rights to those between 15 and 18 are foreseen.

Age verification procedures will be carried out via e-Government, and users will match their social media accounts with the age code provided through e-Government. Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek emphasized that the regulation in question serves to eliminate anonymity and bring accounts under control.
