Acting Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Seyed Majid Ibn al-Rida responded on social media to US President Donald Trump's threat of potentially using the GBU-43/B (MOAB) bomb, known as the 'mother of all bombs'.

Stating that the names and sizes of bombs do not matter, Acting Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Seyed Majid Ibn al-Rida responded to US President Donald Trump's statements. Ibn al-Rida said, "Your bomb will explode in your global reputation, the US economy, and even your election calculations. What brought you to the point where you have to say 'Hello sir' today, changing the calculations, is the power of our missiles."

Evaluating claims of an attack on Iran on the "Newsmax" television channel, US President Trump had pointed to the 'mother of all bombs', emphasizing that it was not nuclear, in response to the anchor's question regarding the use of tactical nuclear weapons. CNN and CBS News had claimed that the Washington administration was considering using this bomb against Iran before or after the midterm elections. Meanwhile, the White House stated in a written response to CBS News that Trump keeps all options on the table to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Weighing approximately 9,800 kilograms, the GBU-43/B (MOAB) bomb is known as the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal and was first used in April 2017 during Trump's first presidential term against a Daesh tunnel complex in Afghanistan.
