As part of its third-quarter earnings report, Meta announced that it will create a new class of shares to provide resources for artificial intelligence projects, cover potential corporate acquisitions, and handle employee compensation. Scheduled to begin trading in 2027, these non-voting shares aim to increase the company's financial flexibility during its artificial intelligence transformation process.

Meta CFO Susan Li stated during the earnings call that this new class of shares will expand the company's financing tools and provide the flexibility necessary to support the momentum in artificial intelligence-driven business processes. The company emphasized that the scale of investment required to maintain competition in the industry and expand infrastructure is quite high.

Investing billions of dollars in the artificial intelligence race, Meta continues to build data centers and recruit talented personnel. The company expects its total capital expenditures for 2026 to be between $135 billion and $145 billion.
