Milwaukee Brewers Fans Cash In Decade-Old $1K Ticket Promotion for World Series
The special $1,000 'Timeless Ticket' sold by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2015 provided massive value to fans as the team advanced to the World Series for the first time in over four decades.
Personalized brass tickets sold by the Milwaukee Brewers for $1,000 in 2015, which granted access to future home games, are being revisited by fans as the team achieves World Series success decades later.
Following a poor performance in the 2015 season, the Milwaukee Brewers offered their fans an unusual promotion. The team put personalized, one-pound brass tickets on sale for $1,000, granting entry to any future home game, opening day, playoffs, and even Game 7 of the World Series. Only 1,000 of these tickets, named the 'Timeless Ticket,' were sold, generating a total revenue of $1 million.
With Milwaukee reaching the World Series for the first time in over forty years 11 years later, patient fans who hold these tickets have begun to reap the rewards of their investment. According to Gametime data, the cheapest resale ticket for Game 1 of the World Series is listed at $2,681, while upper-tier seats exceed $3,500. Timeless Ticket holders also have the right to purchase three additional tickets at face value, subject to availability.
On the other hand, possessing these tickets does not mean fans can simply walk straight into the stadium and demand any front-row seat they want. The Brewers management stated that ticket holders must make requests and that World Series seating arrangements are subject to ticket availability. The club announced that it is processing applications and that fans will be closely informed regarding assigned games and seats. As the team prepares to host Games 1 and 2 on Friday and Saturday, potential Games 6 and 7 will be played the following weekend.
