OpenAI expands partnership with Oracle to bring its apps to ChatGPT

OpenAI and Oracle have announced the expansion of their commercial partnership to integrate Oracle applications and data into ChatGPT and to empower new Oracle products and services with OpenAI models.

OpenAI and Oracle aim to help businesses utilize artificial intelligence in their core operations, build better applications, and strengthen security. According to the announcement, this collaboration builds upon existing commercial relationships covering the OpenAI API, ChatGPT Work, and Codex. Within Oracle, there are 130,000 active ChatGPT users and over 95,000 active Codex users. For example, Oracle's recruiting team now completes market research that previously took two to four days in just 15 to 20 minutes using ChatGPT Work.

The two companies share a vision where employees and AI agents can work together across business applications in a single connected environment. Developed within this scope, Oracle AI Workspace aims to provide integration with Oracle applications and data, allowing users to describe the actions they need, find accurate information, and complete approved workflows from a single location. Additionally, Oracle customers in the U.S. will be able to purchase access to the OpenAI API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work through the Oracle Marketplace using existing procurement processes and eligible Oracle Universal Credits.

AI Integrations in Oracle Products

In addition to the Oracle AI Workspace announcement, the company also unveiled new products and updates developed with OpenAI models and tools. Oracle AI Security Mesh is designed to help customers use OpenAI cyber models to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure.

The Oracle AI SMB Bundle combines ChatGPT Business and Codex with Oracle applications and recurring Oracle Cloud Infrastructure credits to help small businesses develop products and manage operations. Oracle App Composer enables teams to build applications with Codex and other AI tools, connect them to approved Oracle data and workflows, and share them within the organization.
