Rich cultural and artistic events are being held in Izmir between October 19-25
A comprehensive week of culture and arts, ranging from theater to opera, concerts to talks, awaits art lovers in Izmir. The events, taking place between October 19 and 25, will meet audiences at various centers across the city.
Izmir is hosting an intensive culture and arts program consisting of theater, opera, musicals, concerts, talks, and workshops between October 19 and 25. Prepared with the contributions of institutions such as the Izmir State Theater, State Opera and Ballet, State Classical Turkish Music Choir, and State Symphony Orchestra, the events will meet art lovers at various stages in the city.
The Izmir State Theater will stage the plays "Two Green Sea Turtles" and "YUKO" at the Karsiyaka Ragip Haykir Stage, and the work "Nizamulmulk" at the Bornova Culture Center Bozkurt Kuruc Stage. The Izmir State Opera and Ballet will present the musical "Lend Me a Tenor" on October 19, and the "Troy" opera on October 24 as part of the Izmir Culture Route Festival. Additionally, the "Autumn Breezes" concert will be held on October 25.
Within the scope of music events, the Izmir State Classical Turkish Music Choir will present the "Hazan and Harmony" concert on October 22, the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of conductor Rengim Gokmen on October 23, and the Izmir State Turkish World Dance and Music Ensemble will present the "Melodies from the Turkish World" program on October 24.
The Izmir Culture and Arts Factory will host workshops and talks throughout the week. A wood burning workshop and musical narrative will be held on October 19, talks on environment and urban documentation on October 20, a breast health seminar and poetry recital on October 22, and talks on Republican-era art and architecture on October 23.
