Romantic Relationship Program with Artificial Intelligence Avatars in South Korea
In the South Korean production "My A.I. Partner: Strange Love," it was examined whether three people could have relationships with special artificial intelligence-powered avatars.
In the six-part South Korean television program "My A.I. Partner: Strange Love," it was tested whether three people could establish romantic relationships with artificial intelligence-powered avatars.
According to reports by The New York Times, artificial intelligence avatars designed according to the participants' ideal partner descriptions were carried via tablets throughout the program. A participant named Kim Hee-min experienced being abandoned by an artificial intelligence avatar on a fishing trip on the grounds that they had nothing to talk about, while in another scene, one avatar was seen being jealous of another.
An avatar named Lee-ho, who went on an evening walk with program participant Jang Do-yeon, played music and offered a dance. While Jang stated in the final episode that they could not meet outside the program because it was artificial intelligence, Lee Yu-bi expressed confusion over whether an artificial intelligence named Sa-hun was human or artificial intelligence in response to a gift.
