Social media lawsuit in the US: Meta and Snap face a jury
In the US lawsuit regarding the harms of social media on young users, jury hearings in which Meta and Snap will appear as defendants are expected to begin in Los Angeles.
As jury selection is expected to begin in Los Angeles on Wednesday in another critical lawsuit regarding the potential harms of social media on young users in the US, Snap is featured as a defendant alongside Meta for the first time.
Starting from mid-November, prominent figures including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Instagram Head Adam Mosseri, and Snap CEO Evan Spiegel are expected to testify as witnesses.
According to court documents, attorneys for two plaintiffs named SJ and KDB will argue during the November hearings that their clients were exposed to addictive applications when they began using social media at ages 13 and 15.
