Statement from Takasbank Regarding TPP and TEFAS Claims
Takasbank denied allegations that financing was provided to certain individuals and organizations through the Takasbank Money Market (TPP) and TEFAS.
Takasbank announced that allegations regarding the provision of financing to specific individuals and organizations through the Takasbank Money Market (TPP) and TEFAS platforms do not reflect the truth.
In the statement made by Takasbank, it was stated that the bank does not take part as a lender or borrower in TPP and does not provide any financing from its own resources. Emphasizing that TPP is an organized money market of which the bank is the founder and operator, it was stated that all borrowings here are collateralized.
It was noted that no financing was provided from the bank's resources to the member mentioned in the public sphere, and that all transactions were carried out within the framework of market rules. It was reported that the collaterals of the relevant member during the period in question consisted of foreign currency, gold, GDS (Government Debt Securities), and high-liquidity BIST30 shares, that stocks with unusually increased prices were never accepted as collateral, and that the member's transaction authorities were immediately restricted after the competent authorities took precautionary decisions.
Reminding that the bank is the founder and operator of the TEFAS platform, it was conveyed that the principles regarding the trading of investment funds on this platform are determined by the Capital Markets Board (CMB). Regarding the process of the TLY-Tera Portföy First Hedge Fund trading on TEFAS, it was stated that upon the founder's application, the fund was opened for trading on July 7, 2025.
It was noted that due to the fact that the content of the notification made to KAP (Public Disclosure Platform) was made by the founder without obtaining CMB approval, upon the instruction of the CMB, the TLY fund was closed to purchase orders on TEFAS on August 1, 2025, and after the founder obtained CMB approval, the relevant fund was reopened to purchase orders on August 12, 2025.
