Sustainable Science Festival Opens Its Doors at Piazza Mall in Kahramanmaraş

The Sustainable Science Festival (SÜRBİLFEST), addressing environmental, social, and economic dimensions, has started at Piazza Mall in Kahramanmaraş. Organized under the leadership of TÜBİTAK in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality, the Onikişubat District National Education Directorate, and stakeholder institutions, the event aims to raise early-age awareness of sustainable living among students ranging from primary school to high school.

Children have the opportunity to evaluate the topic of sustainable development in 14 different workshops, including the Plant Explorers Workshop, World of Living Beings Workshop, Water Detectives Workshop, and Ecological Life Workshop. Within the scope of the events, preschool teachers and academics also carry out guidance and promotional activities for the students.

Preschool Teacher Neslihan Cansu Salihoğlu stated that the events were beneficial for children, while KSÜ Faculty of Agriculture Faculty Member Ali Arda Işıkber introduced insects at the stand and emphasized their importance in nature. Classroom Teacher Burcu Köse Özdemir explained the process of growing plants through seed planting. The festival will continue until October 24.
