Target of 20 Million Participants in the Private Pension System with the 2027 Budget Bill
The 2027 Central Government Budget Law Proposal aims to increase the number of participants in the Private Pension System to 20 million by the end of 2029 and to make the Automatic Enrollment System more attractive.
Within the scope of the 2027 Central Government Budget Law Proposal, new targets have been set for the Private Pension System (BES) and the Automatic Enrollment System (OKS). According to the proposal, the number of participants in the system is projected to increase gradually to reach 20 million by the end of 2029.
According to the data in the budget proposal, the number of BES participants is planned to be raised to 18 million 400 thousand by the end of 2026, 19 million in 2027, 19 million 500 thousand in 2028, and 20 million in 2029. To achieve these targets, the appropriations allocated to the Program for the Development of the Financial System and Insurance are projected to be 126 billion 655 million liras in 2027, 147 billion 807 million liras in 2028, and 167 billion 22 million liras in 2029.
Within the scope of the program, it is aimed to spread financial literacy studies, redesign standard pension investment funds, and simplify deductions by increasing fund diversity in OKS.
