Located in the Central Anatolia Region, the border line between Yozgat's Yerköy and Kırşehir's Çiçekdağı districts runs through the middle of streets and avenues, offering citizens the opportunity to cross into a different province with a single step.

Two intertwined districts

The central districts of Yerköy, affiliated with Yozgat, and Çiçekdağı, affiliated with Kırşehir, are adjacent to each other, and the streets passing between them separate the two provinces.

In this settlement where the border line disappears in daily life, citizens frequently change provinces and districts without even realizing it.

Common culture and social life

Citizens living in the region are completely accustomed to this intertwined administrative structure, and there are strong ties between the two districts.

Ekrem Dinç, a resident of Çiçekdağı, stated that he crosses into Yerköy with a single step and expressed that social life, such as funerals, weddings, and markets, is completely shared.

Status of homes and workplaces

Cengiz Öztürk, a resident of Yerköy, stated that his own house is located within the borders of Yerköy, but his workplace is situated in the Çiçekdağı region.

Öztürk also pointed out that a large portion of the Yerköy population consists of people from Çiçekdağı originating from the Kırşehir region.

Different telephone codes

It is known that before the transition to smartphones in the past, different area codes were used inside some homes.

Because one part of the house remained in Yerköy and the other part in Çiçekdağı, both the 0354 and 0386 codes were used under the same roof.
