Turkey continues its diplomatic traffic to avoid being left out of the European Union's 'Made in EU' implementation within the Industrial Acceleration Act.

Turkey-EU Business Summit Held

The second Turkey-EU Business Summit, organized by DEİK Turkey-European Union Business Councils, was held with the participation of more than 570 business and political representatives.

The main agenda item of the summit was the impact Turkey will create in the transforming European market and cooperation opportunities.

Importance of the Automotive Sector

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat emphasized that the strongest example of integration between Turkey and the European Union is the automotive sector.

He stated that Turkey's $62 billion automotive trade corresponds to approximately 26 percent of total bilateral trade.

Customs Union Achievements

During the evaluations, it was stated that the 'Made in Europe' approach must not harm the thirty-year achievements of the Customs Union.

It was recalled that the Customs Union has carried trade between the two parties to a significant level by increasing it elevenfold during this period.

Current Point is Promising

Minister Ömer Bolat conveyed that Turkey was completely excluded in the initial drafts, but the point reached as a result of intensive diplomacy is promising.

He noted that Turkey is not just an exporting country, but is fully integrated into the supply and investment chains of the European automotive industry.

Trade Volume Breaks Record

EU Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maroš Šefčovič addressed the economic data between the two parties at the joint press conference.

He announced that merchandise trade reached approximately 218 billion Euros in 2025 and services trade exceeded 40 billion Euros.
