Trump says he will ban term artificial intelligence

In a statement on Truth Social, US President Donald Trump stated that the term "artificial intelligence" (AI) implies that intelligence is fake by definition, and announced that this phrase will be banned in official documents and other areas. Trump advocates using the term "super intelligence" (SI) instead of this phrase.

Trump criticized The Wall Street Journal for not using the term "super intelligence," which he prefers. Having previously signed an executive order on September 29, Trump had requested that federal executive branch agencies use "super intelligence" and "SI" instead of "artificial intelligence" and "AI" to the extent permitted by law.

Similarly, Trump's new decision, following previous regulations on geographical names and terms, continues to spark debate in the tech world and media organizations. While some tech leaders and companies have adopted the new terminology, traditional terms remain in general use.
