Vietnam and Poland have agreed to strengthen scientific cooperation in three priority technology areas: clean energy, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology. Research centers and funding mechanisms were discussed at a joint committee meeting held in Hanoi.

Vietnam and Poland have decided to increase cooperation in clean energy and environmental technology; artificial intelligence, digital technology, and quantum technology; and biotechnology, biomedical science, and pharmaceuticals. The third meeting of the Vietnam-Poland Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation, held in Hanoi on October 27, 2026, took place after a 22-year hiatus. The meeting was co-chaired by Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan and Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education Marcin Kulasek, who emphasized that relations between the two countries have been elevated to the level of a Strategic Partnership.

The Polish side expressed support for funding agreements covering a joint research center planned for launch in 2027, annual forums, and 10-20 research projects. In this context, a memorandum of understanding is targeted to be signed in early 2027 between the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development of Vietnam (NAFOSTED) and the Polish National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR). Additionally, on the occasion of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on education and scientific research was signed between the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and Poznań University of Technology.
