William & Mary Graduate Ben Williamson Experiences World Series Excitement

William & Mary graduate Ben Williamson achieved the success of advancing to the World Series final with the Tampa Bay Rays in his second Major League Baseball season. The Tampa Bay Rays earned the right to compete for the championship against the Milwaukee Brewers by eliminating the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Championship Series.

Ben Williamson, who graduated from William & Mary in 2023, drew attention with his successful defensive plays at second base and critical contributions during the Cleveland Guardians series. While team manager Rob McCoy expressed his pride in Williamson's success, this turning point in the career of the player, who will face off against the Milwaukee Brewers in the series wearing the Tampa Bay Rays uniform, is also being followed with excitement at the university. Williamson is on his way to becoming the third William & Mary graduate to compete in the World Series since Vic Raschi, who wore the New York Yankees uniform in 1953.
